We are currently looking to expand our group with well trained and qualified physicians. Salary and benefits are negotiable with the hospital administration based on training, certification, and experience. Contracts are typically two years in length, but this may be negotiable with the administration.
All contracted physicians are afforded relocation expenses. Temporary housing in a furnished on-campus apartment is available on arrival to American Samoa. As a resident of American Samoa, medical, dental, and hospital coverage for you and your dependents is available at resident rates for care in American Samoa. Staff are also eligible to participate in our supplemental group insurance plan for off-island care.
We offer a generous annual leave plan with a minimum of five weeks vacation accrued per calendar year for full-time contracted employees, in addition to accrued sick leave. There are also 13 government holidays per year, with essential personnel compensated for clinical duties required on these days.
Continuing Medical Education is encouraged and one week is provided per year with pay for conference attendance in addition to funding for expenses and registration.
Malpractice coverage is provided through American Samoa Law Section 43.1207, which states that LBJ employees are immune from suit under the doctrine of governmental immunity, offering protection equivalent to occurrence-based coverage.
