James R. Marrone, MD, MPH&TM, FAAP
I come from Southern California originally, and trained in General Pediatrics at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center until the year 2000.  While in medical school at Tulane University, I studied public health and tropical medicine to receive my MPH&TM degree.  I also have extensive travel and educational experience in various parts of Latin America.

From 2001 until late 2015 I lived and worked as a General Pediatrician at the LBJ Tropical Medical Center in the US Island Territory of American Samoa.  From April, 2008, until late 2105, I was also the Chief of the Pediatrics Department there, and I remained active on several Medical Staff Executive Committees at the center.  Throughout my time in American Samoa I maintained particular interest in Physician as well as Mid-Level Provider/Practitioner recruiting for the Medical Center, including the National Health Service Corps, since I myself am a former successful Loan Repayor via that program.

Outside of work, I enjoyed SCUBA diving as well as playing skill games with friends.  International travel always remained another passion of mine, and working at LBJ afforded me enough leave time to keep up all of those hobbies.
