Nestor Devesi, MBBS
Acting Department Chief

Originally from the Solomon Islands a small Melanesian country in the South Pacific, I attained my Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Papua New Guinea at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences. I later spent few more years in Pediatric Post Graduate Training in the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea and Fiji.

Traveling the Pacific I also spent two years working with the Pediatrics Department in the Republic of Marshall Islands before coming over to LBJ Tropical Medical Center (LBJ TMC).

Coming to LBJ TMC has given me an excellent opportunity to work along side other highly qualified Pediatricians and doctors with different training and backgrounds from other countries all over the world including other health professionals sharing and exchanging knowledge and experiences with one goal in making the lives and health of our kids in this territory better.

I get to spend a lot of leisure times with my family as well and enjoy doing activities with them whether it is indoors or outdoors and just make the most of what this friendly and beautiful place has to offer.
